We explored how probiotics affect ear infections in a study using twenty-four male Wistar rats. The rats were divided into groups to receive probiotics at different times related to induced ear effusion.

The results showed that the healing rate of ear effusions improved significantly with probiotics. Particularly, those that received probiotics both before and after the effusion showed a 100% healing rate. This suggests that probiotics may help reduce inflammation and support recovery in cases of otitis media with effusion.

Therefore, probiotics could serve as a helpful complementary treatment for individuals at risk of these ear infections.

PS7 probiotic significantly reduces ear infections
We evaluated the effectiveness of the probiotic strain PS7 in preventing repeat ear infections, known as recurrent acute otitis media (rAOM), in children. In a trial involving 61 children, those who took the probiotic daily experienced a significant reduction in AOM episodes—an 84% decrease compared to the previous six months.

Our findings suggest that PS7 not only helps restore the middle ear microbiota but is also safe and effective in reducing ear infection frequency in young children.

Probiotics ineffective for ear infections
We explored whether probiotics could reduce ear infections in children prone to acute otitis media. In a robust study involving 309 children aged 10 months to 6 years, participants either took a daily probiotic or a placebo for 24 weeks.

Unfortunately, the results showed that probiotics did not significantly lower the rates of ear infections or the time they lasted. While there was a hint of fewer respiratory infections in the probiotic group, this needs more research to validate.

Overall, probiotics didn't deliver the hoped-for benefits regarding ear infections in these children.

IBS symptoms vanished

Great product for IBS relief! I've been using these probiotics to treat IBS symptoms for a few months now, and I'm thrilled to report that my symptoms have entirely vanished. I never thought this could happen. Additionally, since I began using them, I haven't experienced any yeast infections, which used to be frequent. I paused taking them for four months, yet the IBS symptoms have not returned. Great stuff! I would highly recommend it to anyone striving to overcome IBS or alleviate its symptoms.

EXCELLENT! A must when taking antibiotics. While I attempt to avoid antibiotics, I frequently acquire lower respiratory tract infections that require their use. Due to chronic ill health caused by systemic candida, antibiotics wreak havoc on my system. However, the damage is minimised, and I recover much more quickly from their effects since I began taking this product. It’s the best one I've tried among many different brands and types.

A fantastic way to maintain wellness! I have been taking these capsules (2 per day) for 1.5 years. Prior to this, I suffered from frequent colds, sinus infections, and upper respiratory infections for 3 months straight. Since using Jarro-Dophilus EPS, I have not had a single cold or flu and have avoided sinus infections.

Lactobacillus shows potential in CSOM
We aimed to explore how lactobacillus, a common probiotic, might help treat chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM), a significant cause of hearing loss. Through a series of laboratory procedures including RNA sequencing and cellular tests, we looked at how lactobacillus could modulate inflammation in the ear.

While our findings indicated that lactobacillus has the potential to reduce inflammatory markers linked to CSOM, it’s important to note that the direct benefits on ear infection symptoms were not overwhelmingly significant.

Overall, we uncovered some insights into the mechanisms at play, hinting at a possible adjunct role of probiotics in ear health.

Lactobacillus shows antibacterial promise
This study evaluated how Lactobacillus acidophilus could impact bacteria causing ear infections. By examining its antibacterial activity alongside ciprofloxacin, we found interesting results.

Lactobacillus demonstrated a strong ability to combat certain pathogens, especially when combined with the antibiotic, although some combinations produced negative effects.

Overall, Lactobacillus acidophilus appears to have potential as a complementary treatment for managing ear infections, thanks to its antibacterial properties and ability to inhibit biofilm formation.

Supplement use improves ear conditions
We explored how a combination of immune-boosting supplements might help children with otitis media with effusion (OME). In a well-structured study involving 198 children, different groups received various treatment regimens over three months.

While results indicated these oral supplements improved middle ear conditions and enhanced immune responses, it’s important to note that the improvements were supportive, rather than a standalone solution. Our findings suggest these supplements could be a helpful addition to traditional treatment methods for recurrent ear infections in children.

Great Product! I have tried several probiotic formulas; I suffer from regular yeast infections and was growing weary of purchasing expensive over-the-counter creams. So far, this is doing the trick! Another bonus is that my entire family recently fell ill with a dreadful flu, and I completely avoided it. Although I'm unsure if this contributed, I like to think it did! I shall continue taking it!

We explored the role of probiotics, specifically Lactobacillus, in preventing acute otitis media (AOM) in children. Analyzing data from 17 robust studies involving nearly 3,500 kids, we found that probiotics were effective at reducing AOM episodes, particularly in children not prone to these infections. However, there was no significant impact on children who typically suffer from frequent ear infections.

Importantly, probiotics also reduced the use of antibiotics for any infections without increasing adverse events. Overall, while promising, we advise caution in interpreting these results due to noticeable variability in study methods.
